Nutrition to Grow Taller: Water
Sunday, August 22nd, 2010We live on a blue planet, filled with water, and science has taught us that water is the source for all forms of life on the face of the earth, an essential element of your body.
Water make up 80% of our body mass! Water is used in every single metabolic process, no matter where they might take place. Water is needed both internally and externally, not forget to mention they maintain functionality of organs, moisturize skin and maintaining muscle structures. In order for our joints to function, we need lubricants to allow joint surfaces to slide freely, try to guess what made up majority of these joint lubricants? Yes, water!
In a modern society where access to water is fairly easy, it is hard for us to comprehend how water is so essential for the survival of human species. So, consider this, human can survive for several weeks without food, but only can survive for a short two to three days without any water.
An individual needs to drink up to 1.5 liters of water each day. 1.5 liters don’t necessarily have to be pure water, they can be in the form of soup, tea, coffee and juice. If the consumption of water is insufficient, a person can fall into a state called, dehydration. This mean, our body can function properly if we are adequately hydrated. How does this relate to growing taller? Well, imagine a body without water, are then transportation and synthesis of growth hormones possible, and even if the hormone can be delivered to bones and muscle tissues, can utilization of nutrient to make new tissue take place?
If you are drafting a “grow taller” nutrition plan, don’t forget to include water. But unlike camels, human body have very low capability to store water, so therefore not logic to drink a lot at one time because excess water will be excreted as urine, which means we need to need certain amount of fluid per day and at a very regular interval throughout the day.
To grow taller, our bodies need every single nutrient, and water is the most basic nutrient of all, because it helps to transport all other nutrients throughout your body and later breaks them down and finally help integrate them together to build new tissues.
Remember we said earlier, that the source of water for our body doesn’t solely have to be pure water itself, it can be in the form of coffee, juice, tea and extracts, but remember carefully, nothing can beat pure water, see, if you drink too much coffee, coke and tea, you will get caffeine intoxication, by indulging yourself with juice and soda will shoot up your blood sugar level and soup contain salt, that if you drink too much is not good for your kidneys. Do boozes qualify as a source of water? No, absolutely not, instead they cause your body to lose more water, because alcohol content in boozes are diuretics which stimulate your kidney to excrete more water.
